DX9 Patch Woes

It's a bi-weekly entry again, simply because of the DX9 patch. With all the troubles caused by that patch, the first week was slow on raids. After the "fix" patch, things picked up for us.

We tried raiding our "regular" mobs on patch day. Needless to say there were a ton of collision bugs that needed to be fixed. It did make for an "interesting" Emp fight though.

After the "emergency" patch to fix the untested DX9 patch, we were able to start raiding some. We hit a few of the Ssra mobs that we normally go after, then we started concentrating our efforts on flags for elementals again.

We knocked out a few "guild first" mobs: Saryrn and Tallon Zek. Saryrn is definetly the funnest encounter we've done so far, but my god the pita to clear to there. Not to mention the lack of coth in Torment. Our first attempt was a failure. Our second attempt was a feeble effort to try to salvage the raid after people had started camping for the night, so we had another failure.

After the raid, we discussed our strategies for our next attempt and finally agreed on one for our next Saryrn raid. That raid came a lot faster than we thought, and the very next day we were back at it again. Everyone stuck to the strategy we discussed, the fight went very smooth, and we soon found her laying at our feet.

Tallon wasn't nearly as fun as Saryrn, mainly because she's hawt and he's nawt. Nevertheless we went after him anyway and we soon found ourselves looting his corpse.

Those 2 kills leave us just 3 mobs short of Sol Ro access now, however we still have a lot of backflagging to do simply to keep the rest of the guild caught up. Hopefully we'll have our slacker crews logging in a little more regular in an effort to get their flags so we don't leave them behind in the very near future.

Other than those 2 kills, the rest of the mobs were the same old same old. I don't think I can find another way to even try to describe those fights to make them still sound interesting, so I'll just list em here: Blood x2, Emp x2, Cursed, XTC x2, Grummus, Carprin, RD, and Terris (I guess Terris is still a lotta fun, but I don't wanna sit here and talk about waves of butterflies!)

I'll prolly start posting kill shots in here eventually, but screenshots on raids are usually boring as hell from a cleric's perspective.
