It's been a while since my last update. A RL project has 90% of my attention right now, so between it, raids, and regular household/yardwork chores, I really haven't had a chance to get to the newspage.
I've tried to get another officer to take over the duties, but they quiver at the thought of trying to follow in the footsteps of such a powerful writing technique and style. So you're stuck with my sporadic updates until I finish my RL commitments.
A lot's happened in UG since the last update. My last post had us attempting MM for our first time, and failing. Well, within days of that post, we decided to try him again using the strategies we had discussed. One short fight later and Mith Marr laid dead at our feet, and we were finally flagged for Sol Ro Tower.
Since then, we've been working on nothing but backflagging mobs in an attempt to get the rest of the guild caught up in terms of flags. It's been long, and it's been boring, but each day we seem to add one more guild member to the list of members flagged for Sol Ro.
I'd like to take a moment to thank all the guilds/alliances that have been willing to work with us on crossflagging, most notably Inverted Horizons, Moonlight Crusaders, Risen From the Ashes, and United Raiders of Norrath. There's many other guilds that have allowed us to crossflag a time or 2 along the way, but these four guilds are the ones that we have a daily crossflagging relationship with. It's nice to see the "competition" willing to help each other when needed to help cut down on server drama.
I'd also like to give a pat on the back to all the members of UG that have been putting aside their own wants and needs in order to help get the part-time players in the guild caught up. Day in and day out, our members have kept killing silly little mobs like Grummus or doing the Hedge walk just to see 1 or 2 more ppl get their flags. They constantly rally for these encounters, knowing that loot is sub-par, the encounters are boring, and that tempers could flare. But they selflishly keep grinding through these flagging mobs just to help out their fellow guildies. It makes me proud to call these players my guildmates.
We have a couple more weeks of serious backflagging efforts, then we're going to push our focus towards getting elemental flagged. So much hate for the flagging system. I could go on a rant here about how they "could have" or "should have" done the flagging system, but it's a moot point. Countless guilds before us have gone through the same system, and countless more will follow behind us. So I doubt I would say anything that hasn't been said before.
Now then, on to raids...
We did a BUTTLOAD of raids. I can't even begin to name everything. But I can sure show ya links to the loot with the winners. But before I do, I just gotta let ya know....my picture program is fubared, and until I get a new hard drive I don't have the room to slap a new one on there. So there's not gonna be any new little banner thingymajigs when we get access to a new zone. So instead of slapping up banners for the ones I already have made, and then nothing for the new ones, I'm just gonna leave the banners out. They'll be back in the future when I have the disk space for a new program, but until then you get NOTHING!!!!

I haven't been updating this page recently, mainly because our raids tapered off a little bit. We didn't raid with our usual frequency, and when we did raid, it was mostly the same old flagging mobs that have crappy loot that usually rots. However, we did manage to get one step closer to Sol Ro.
We finally found Vallon Zek up, but there was one small problem. He spawned early in the afternoon and none of our members were online. Knowing how fast he dies to other guilds, we quickly sent out the rally. Next thing you know we have a 45 man bot army raid. Our monks made short work of the splitting, and a few minutes later, we were all VZ flagged finally. To make things better, we found him up again later in the week and managed to get another flagging run out of him.
That was pretty much the highlight for us. Mainly because it put us 1 mob away from Sol Ro access. Hopefully by the end of this week, we'll have that final mob down and our (read: my) stress levels will drop a little bit. The guildies can all tell you how much fun it is to listen to guild chat when I'm stressed. There's times when I feel sorry for em for having to listen to my rants.
Some other raids of interest (ie: loot mobs) that we managed to hit were Cursed, Emp, and HP. But other than those 3, there really wasn't a lot in terms of upgrades for the guild except for silly yellow flag text. We did have a Bert run where almost all the kings dropped an item, so that was kinda weird and bizarre, but I don't remember who got what items outta that, so no pics or links from that one.
